People are at the heart of everything ExperiencePoint does. That’s where Carla Fernandes, the Director of Human Resources comes in. 

Fernandes engages, empowers and supports the company’s talented and passionate professionals, striving each day to build and encourage a culture that aligns to the values that ExperiencePoint works hard to instill and foster.   

After obtaining a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University, with a specialization in human resources and her CHRL designation, Fernandes was hired at Scotiabank where she quickly advanced. Here she oversaw the company’s full-cycle recruitment process and was entrusted to secure and onboard top talent for roles ranging from front-line workers to executives. 

In 2016, Fernandes joined ExperiencePoint and immediately became an invaluable catalyst for internal transformation — not only guiding all facets of its employee operations but developing and implementing a range of dynamic policies and processes that would lead to the company landing on Canada’s Top 100 Small & Medium Employers 2020 list and being recognized as one of 150 Best Workplaces in Canada in the same year. 

From journey-mapping the experience of employees to observing and interviewing staff throughout their professional journey, Fernandes is known for continuously challenging herself and her team to discover unique ways of introducing the principles of human-centered into ExperiencePoint’s work environment and culture. 

An avid checklist-maker, vision-boarder and duel-passport-holder, Fernandes finds herself frequently dreaming of her next adventure to Europe. She is fluent in Portuguese, loves to spend time with her family and feels she may have been an interior decorator in another life.
