"Excellent workshop, highly engaging and relevant!"

ExperienceChange is a one day facilitated workshop that challenges
learners to team up and tackle a real-world change initiative in
one of our award-winning simulations.

A Day in the Life of ExperienceChange

The team diagnose the current state of the company.

Introduction

In Classroom

With coffee at the ready, the day begins with a large group conversation on change. Learners are encouraged to share personal experiences and distill into best practice. They divide into teams and are introduced to the day's objective – making change happen in an organization that feels remarkably similar to their own.

The team diagnose the current state of the company.

Diagnosis

In Simulation Teams

Teams first diagnose the current situation through interviews with key stakeholders - many of whom share conflicting views. Teams use an analysis framework to help synthesize and integrate the various perspectives.

Change Theory

In Classroom

Teams bring their analysis back to the group for a case dialogue. An in-depth discussion of best practice follows and a seven stage model for managing change is explored. Emphasis is placed on a universal set of change principles and an appreciation that different situations often call for different approaches.

The team diagnose the current state of the company.

Planning

In Simulation Teams

Teams apply the change theory by building their own change plan. Working within time and budget constraints, they must determine which activities to implement and in which order. What should we do? When should we do it? How? This is a taste of the planning conversation. Success requires learners to share, teach and influence one another.

Implementation

In Simulation Teams

Teams implement their plans and get immediate feedback on the quality of each decision. Moments of quiet anticipation are punctuated with cheers and groans. The change journey is deeply felt. Is buy-in going up? How did certain stakeholders react to that last decision? The loudest cheers are heard when teams succeed by achieving a tipping point of buy-in.

Debrief & Apply

In Classroom

Teams regroup to share their experiences. A reflection follows on team dynamics and change theory. Links are made to current challenges. Exercises help learners identify insights and build an action plan (personal, team, organization). Learners leave with a full brain, happy heart and tired body from a day of full-engagement.

Our simulations challenge teams to navigate a real-world scenario:

Lakeview

Lakeview hospital needs to improve customer satisfaction while operating with extensive resource constraints.

GlobalTech

GlobalTech is highly siloed, internally focused, and failing to deliver what customers demand.

"This is adult learning at its best."

ExperienceChange is a cornerstone of change initiatives that transform,
leadership programs that enable, and learning events that inspire.

Kick it off, or wrap it up.

Leadership Programs

"ExperienceChange is an indispensable part of our leadership curriculum. As a capstone experience, it's a fun and engaging activity that provides a full expression of an individual's background and what they've learned in the course."

Ron Franklin
Center for Executive Education,
Naval Postgraduate School

Don't leave change to chance.

Change Initiatives

"This tool is a fabulous resource to develop change capability in leaders. Change is so subjective-it's a hard thing to develop in others."

Annabella Tamburro
ING Direct

Hit a home run, every time.

Learning Events

"Many of our corporate team commented on the problems and responses being so similar to what they face each day. The simulation gave them a safe environment to test solutions and learn from their decisions."

Rich Jutkins
Stampin' Up!

"Very easy to run. An excellent and engaging learning tool!"
